I’m a bit embarrassed that it has been this long and I haven’t given official names to the warring nations of Bellum. So without any more shenanigans I’m going to do so now and give you some understanding of them.

   Vitis (Eastern Bellum) – The Nation of Vitis is the poorer of the two ruling over Bellum. While it is largely comprised of mountain ranges and ore deposits it has little in the way of lush landscape to supply its people with food. Vitis has been on a nearly endless mission to expand west into the far more hospitable and food rich lands of Spes.

  Vitis is ruled by a collective of highly determined warlords who are themselves ruled over by a highly powerful individual known as Dactus. The nation itself is famous within and without as having constant coups, however every single attempt to assassinate or otherwise depose Dactus has resulted in every single person involved being swiftly executed and anyone that could possibly be tied in with the event is also equally destroyed.

  Vitis is split up into a few dozen smaller sub nations or states that are ruled by the collective each its own separate region. While infighting is not unheard of it is more common to find them working together to make headway into the lands of Spes.

  Spes (Western Bellum) – The Nation of Spes is geologically the inverse to Vitis. Lush plains and endless forests leave the people well fed and well supplied but the severe lack of mountain ranges or other places of ore retrieval leave the people much less prepared militarily.

  However while it is a nation that is weak in brute force the collective wisdom has lead to incredibly creative and powerful forms of explosives that are made from various organic products that the nation has in spades. It is this ingenuity and technological high ground that has given Spes the power to hold off against the massive armies of Vitis while still maintaining a stable population and a genuinely pleased population.

  The nation of Spes is lead by a single man, The King, Votum. Votum is an exceptionally charismatic leader who joined every state of Spes below a solitary flag when he was only 24 years of age. It was this solidarity that saved Spes from the almost certain defeat by the warriors of Vitis. He has since taken up rule from the capital city of Votimus.

  The border that rests between the two nations has steadily been moving further and further West as Vitis becomes ever more wild and extreme with its attacks. News is spreading that a new secret weapon has been discovered and both sides are scrambling to acquire it for their own use. It is widely believed amongst the leaders of both sides that the first to acquire this new weapon will be able to fully defeat their other.
